The Regional Eye Center provides excellent medical and surgical care for patients who suffer from corneal and external diseases. The lens and cornea refract light together and the cornea is responsible for two-thirds of the eye’s total optical power. The cornea is transparent and if it becomes scratched or damaged, it can lead to blindness. New technology has allowed corneal surgeons to perform procedures like corneal transplants and DSAEK to save vision if the cornea has been damaged.
