The Regional Eye Center has partnered with Vera Bradley to create, these custom sunglasses in honor of Darla J.
Come join us, purchase your pair of glasses in support of breast cancer awareness and meet the designer. You will also be entered to win a pair of the Darla J glasses customized with prescription lenses.
WHO WAS DARLA J?
Darla “Darla J” Stallard, a Kingsport native and sister of The Regional Eye Center employee Gina Flanary, was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer in July 2008. When a Vera Bradley representative visited The Regional Eye Center and heard Darla J’s story from her sister Gina, the idea for the design was conceived as part of Vera Bradleys’ newest eyewear collection.
“Darla was my oldest sister, and we had a very special bond,” said Flannery. “She would be so pleased to know her legacy will help fund research to find a cure for the disease that took her life. I’m grateful to Vera Bradley and The Regional Eye Center for memorializing Darla J in this way.”

Overview: Beginning on June 28 and ending July 10 The Regional Eye Center will make a post on Facebook about the launch of the new Vera Bradley “Darla J” glasses launch event. Eligible Facebook users who comment with their favorite vacation spot on this post will be entered to win one pair of the Vera Bradley “Darla J” sunglasses. The drawing will be random from the users who leave their comments.

Comment to enter: Beginning June 28, 2019 you may enter the contest by visiting The Regional Eye Center’s Facebook page and “leaving a comment” on the post related to the Darla J Launch event. Eligible Facebook users who comment on the post as set forth above will be entered to win 1 pair of the Darla J inspired sunglasses by Vera Bradley.
Eligibility:
The contest is open only to legal residents of the U.S. who are 18 years of age or older, except that employees of The Regional Eye Center are not eligible to enter or win.
Winners:
We will notify winners via Facebook messenger and the glasses can be picked up from The Regional Center office.
